Create a Mass Haul Import Location

Use the Create Mass Haul Import command to force a specified quantity of usable and unusable material to be accepted at a particular station along a corridor's alignment.

Import values specify exact quantities of material that must be supplied at a particular point. This import material can then be distributed along the alignment. All import earthworks must be used; excess import is hauled along the alignment until it is used or disposed of at a waste site.

Prerequisites:

To access the command:

To specify a mass haul import location:

  1. In the Name box, type an identifier for the import location as you want it to appear in the Project Explorer and Corridor Mass Haul Report.
  2. Select the name of the mass haul in the Mass Haul Analysis list.
  3. Specify the station along the alignment at which the import needs to occur by typing in the Station box or by picking it in the Plan View.

Note: Enter a station that is greater than the station where the first cross section occurs.

  4. Click Define Site Materials. The Define Site Materials table displays. In the Materials list, select the type of material that will be imported and must be used by the corridor or disposed of at a waste site. In the Volume column enter the amount of useable material (compacted state). Continue until all materials to be imported have been added. Click OK.

Note: If the material type is undefined, the Fill material specified for the corridor is used. If the Fill material is also undefined, shrinkage and bulkage is not applied to the import volume.

  5. In the Unusable volume box, type the total volume (compacted) of unusable material that is imported with the usable materials. The material type for unusable material is not specified. This is material that must be disposed of at a waste site to balance the corridor mass haul.
  6. Click Apply. Then create additional import locations or click Close. An icon appears at the location of each import in the Plan view and in the Corridor Mass Haul Diagram.

Note: To edit material at the import location, select the import in the Plan view or Project explorer, right click and select Edit from the menu.
