Define Topsoil Replacement Areas
Use the Identify Site Regions command to assign Landscaping/topsoil site improvements (with associated topsoils) to regions of your site (in the same way that generic, area-based site improvements are assigned). Doing this designates places where previously stripped topsoil should be replaced on the site. Topsoil replacement regions can use any intersecting lines designated as potential boundaries; closed boundaries are not required.
If you have defined topsoil materials of different richness grades (within the Material and Site Improvement Manager) and specified a replacement thickness in the associated Landscaping/topsoil site improvement, that thickness beneath any procured material layer (such as sod) is reflected in the topsoil site improvements that you assign.
For more information on the types of surfaces that are automatically created by certain takeoff commands, see Understanding Takeoff Surfaces. For more information on strategies for defining topsoil areas, see the document entitled Defining Topsoil Handling Areas in the Community.
