Add or Import External Job Site Data
Add external job sites to make their job site data and associated designs and design data part of your project. Adding an external job site makes it (and its designs and work orders) appear in the Project Explorer. Then, you can edit and report on the data without affecting the files in the data synchronization area (assuming that you do not disable file overwrite protections. For more information, see Workflow for Using an Existing Site and Prevent Overwriting Job Site Data.
Note: Each project can only contain one job site.
Note: An external site can be added to a project regardless of the types of controllers to which it is assigned. However, if the external site is only assigned to data cards for GCS/AccuGrade machines, none of the data on the controllers can be imported. If it is assigned to SCS site controllers, the data on those controllers can be imported.
Prerequisites:
- License; See the Subscription Plans page. For a license matrix by command, see the License page in the TBC Community. Also see View and manage licensed features.
- Job site in your data synchronization area that is not part of your current project
To add an external job site:
- Select Job Site Manager in Construction Data > Controllers.
The Job Site Manager displays.
- Select Add external site, and select a site in the External site list.
Note: The External site list shows all of the sites found in the data synchronization area on your hard drive.
- Click Job Site Manager command pane displays, and the job site appears in the Project Explorer. See Edit a Job Site's Name and Settings.
Note: When you import external job site data, if you have conflicts between your project's site data and the site data on controllers, red dots will still appear on the resolve buttons in the Job Site Manager. You will be unable to resolve the conflicts with these settings enabled, but you will not be prevented from making changes to the data because it will not be exported to the data synchronization area and assigned controllers.
