Move between Important Stations

In these alignment-based views:

you can move between important computed stations based on:

  • a regular interval ("station interval" appears in the view)
  • HAL points and VAL points (e.g., VPC, VPT, POT appears in the view)
  • stored cross-sections ("stored" appears in the view)
  • corridor templates ("Template: x.xx.xx" appears in the view)
  • stations specified for cross-section plotting ("plotting interval" appears in the view)

To navigate between important stations:

  1. Confirm or set a station interval:
    • Select Project Settings in the Quick Access Toolbarand select View > Station Navigation.
    • In a Corridor Template View, click Options > Settings > Station Navigation.
    • In a Cross-Section View, click the Project Settings icon located at the bottom of the view.

Note: You can leave the station interval set to 0.00 to skip those stations in your navigation.
Note: None of the other computed stations are configurable.

  2. Set the interval at which you want to see stations, and click Close.
  3. At the bottom of a supported alignment-based view, click a navigation button:
    • - Move to previous computed station
    • - Move to next computed station

Note: You can also press [Page Up] and [Page Down] on the keyboard to move to the next computed and previous computed station, respectively.

In the Corridor Template View, you can also click these buttons to move between just the corridor templates:

    • - Move to previous template
    • - Move to next template

Note: You can also press the right and left arrows on the keyboard to move a small percentage along the alignment.

Scenarios:

  • If your horizontal alignment has more than one associated vertical alignment (VAL), the navigation moves to VAL points from each VAL when you navigate along the alignment.
  • In the Station Offset Elevation Report, the station interval for computed stations is based on the alignment's stations and not the distance along the alignment.
